Terms of service

Kakara is the trading name of a New Zealand sole trader. These terms apply when you buy from kakara.nz.

An order is an offer to buy. We accept it when we send a confirmation. We may decline or cancel an order if an item is unavailable, an address cannot be delivered to, or we believe the order is not genuine. If we cancel after payment, we refund you.

We currently ship within New Zealand only. Shipping, rural charges, and free shipping over $120 are set out in the shipping policy.

Prices are in New Zealand dollars. Kakara is not registered for GST. The price you see is the price you pay.

From time to time we may offer promotional discount codes, including a first-order code for people who join The Scent Drop. Codes are for personal use. Unless we say otherwise, each Scent Drop first-order code is valid for 12 months from the date we email it, and may be used once. One product or order discount code per order. Codes do not stack with other product or order discounts. They do not apply to shipping charges. Free shipping over $120, when your cart qualifies, is separate from discount codes and can still apply. We may change or withdraw offers.

Our candles and car fresheners are hand crafted in New Zealand. Fragrance is a matter of taste. Descriptions are honest to the scent as we make it. They are not medical claims.

Use candles and car fresheners with care. Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep products away from children and pets. Hang a car freshener where it does not block the driver's view.

Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986.

New Zealand law applies. If a part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still can.
